HostMonster is one of the best hosting websites out there. In comparison to other web hosts, HostMonster has some great features that give users the most bang for their buck.
For only $5.95 a month, HostMonster offers unlimited space for users. Typically, other web hosts cost $7.95, $9.95, or even $14.95 a month. Another great feature with HostMonster is that users can host an unlimited number of domains at HostMonster. Right after you sign up, you can also receive $50 free in credits for Google advertising. This is a great way to boost traffic to your new website.
It is very easy to transfer parked domains to HostMonster, which is another plus in using HostMonster. There are some negative aspects of using HostMonster I found. The email service seems to be rather outdated. Also, when I contacted the customer service department to help set up my website on HostMonster, the sales associates were rather unhelpful. They did not seem to understand how to navigate the Hostmonster website, and it took over two hours before I figured out how to set up my domain on my own.
I have seen with my past hosting websites that great customer service is difficult to find in a good host. It seems to me that paying more for a hosting service really means paying more for a great customer service department.
Sometimes there is also down time with HostMonster, which can be frustrating when users want to access their domains and make updates to a website. The longest period of down time I experienced was for two days, when I very much needed access to my websites.
With HostMonster, you can host up to 999 websites. This is an incredibly high number of websites to be able to host. At some hosts, users may only host up to 25 websites, so this is truly a unique feature with HostMonster. For ecommerce websites, HostMonster is a wonderful host. It is very easy to install Agora Shopping Cart on an ecommerce website using HostMonster.
Some other negative aspects of using HostMonster are that users have reported that HostMonster sometimes randomly closes and disables accounts. This random disabling can be very problematic for people setting up websites for business purposes. There are some friends of mine who are users of HostMonster who have had accounts randomly shut down.
Overall, HostMonster simply needs to improve its customer service before I will ever be a fully committed user. Other than that, it seems to be on the right track.
